The Light Sport Aircraft category was developed to bridge the gap between unregulated ultralights and half-million dollar certified aircraft.

This is a simple to operate aircraft, designed for local use and reduced pilot requirements. A medical certificate, required for all previous pilot licenses, is not required for Light Sport Aircraft. A simple driver's license is substituted for the medical certificate. The thought of this being that if you are safe to drive, you are safe to fly. Provided proper training, of course.

Our market is the current pilot that desires to fly a less complex aircraft, at one third the operating cost, and is concerned that his medical certificate may not be granted in the near future.

By producing a design closely resembling classic production aircraft of the 1960's, sales will be enhanced by familiarity. For instance, the Beechcraft owners club loses about 1,000 members a year (out of 10,000 ) due to loss of medical, or financial reasons. These members will sell their aircraft, and thus would be in a position to buy our product.

The Funcraft product is designed to use styling cues unique to the Beechcraft

aircraft, much like a Bonanza jr. Currently, there are NO retro styled aircraft in this category with the exception of Piper's CUB.
